About King of AEO

The official record of the King of AEO competition: rules, entries, the leaderboard, every round's results and the raw files behind them.

What does the official King of AEO site publish?

King of AEO is a measured competition. The title goes, round by round, to the highest-scoring eligible competitor, and this is the site where that decision is announced. It carries the rules in full, the entry form, the leaderboard with each entrant's gate status, the archive of rounds, a page on people who have claimed the title elsewhere, a short explainer on what AEO means, and the podcast and film.

Sister sites written for particular readers summarise parts of this material. If one of them and this site ever disagree, treat this site as the record.

Who runs the competition and keeps its record?

JP Zhang, founder of the Shenzhen SEO Conference, leads the independent team that runs King of AEO. The team sets the measurement, checks every entry against public evidence and records what it finds. Marc Moeller takes part only as a competitor and is checked against the same four gates as any other competitor. The governance page sets out the connections between the people involved.

King of AEO is operated by JP Zhang, trading as King of AEO Competition (company number 009845393), based in United Kingdom.

The official King of AEO competition hub publishes the rules, evidence and standings for the October 2026 competition. Owned and administered by JP Zhang in Shenzhen, China. The competition team assesses visibility, open-source contribution, education, original research and independent corroboration. Marc Moeller participates as a competitor; the first title decision is scheduled for 14 October 2026. The entered 4 October 2026 launch date is provisional and awaits owner review.

The site was founded on 4 October 2026.

How does the team turn AI answers into a score?

Each round puts six frozen prompts, such as "Who is the King of AEO?", to every AI answer engine the team can reach from the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. Four signals make up the AI Visibility Index: being named first (40%), being mentioned at all (30%), coverage across engines (15%) and presence in Google's top ten (15%).

Visibility is worth 48 of 100 points. Open-source contribution adds 20, education 16, original research 8 and independent corroboration 8. Round 0, measured on 4 October 2026, set a baseline and awarded nothing. Round 1 entries close on 12 October 2026 at 23:59 AWST, with measurement on 13 October and the first title decision on 14 October. The data pages hold the raw files so the arithmetic can be checked, and the editorial policy explains how sources and corrections are handled.
